IIT Bombay Placement
Indian Institute of Technology (Bombay)is a pioneer engineering and technological institution of India. Unlike rest of the Indian engineering colleges, the top recruiters primarily focus on IITs. According to recent statistics, 200 Companies registered and confirmed their participation in the placement drive during December 2011.From reliable source, it is informed that around thirteen hundred students from M.Sc, B.Tech, Dual Degree, M.Tech, M.Phil and PhD Programs of the academic year 2011-12 appeared for the final campus interviews. Last year 262 Companies participated in the Placement Drive. They offered around 958 jobs to the students. This year more than 286 students received pay package of Rs 8.5 lakhs Per annum and over 135 students got packages from Rs 7-8.5 lakhs in the midst of terrible economic adversity in the job market.

During the placement drive this year, around 60 students are recruited by Multinational Companies (MNC) for their international requirement. Near about 78% candidates from the Dual Degree are hired by top companies. But, as a matter of fact, the PhD students are not recruited that much. Only 8 students out of 57 received placements this year.
